  Product: Cases of bottled water of varying sizes.

Two (2) rebuilt Currie LSP-5 case palletizers. The project included the following:

  • Upgraded controls to Allen Bradley SLC 503 PLC system using a common touch screen as a control station for both palletizers
  • In-house testing of all six (6) case patterns
  • Pallet dispenser capable of holding up to twelve (12) pallets and required conveyors to dispense into palletizer
  • Common catwalk for both palletizers
  • A five-foot section of discharge conveyor for each machine

The overall project included the rebuilding, in-house testing, supervised installation, and Intech start-up. The system included a one-year warranty and was delivered within six (6) weeks.


A rebuilt Columbia Model 200E Case Palletizer equipped with a new Intech sweep-style pallet dispenser, slip-sheet dispenser, and Allen Bradley 5/03 controls.

Product information:

  • Knocked-down corrugated containers in half-slotted container (HSC) shippers
  • 21 5/8" x 11 7/16" x 16" high - 55 lbs. - 8 cases/layer - 12 cases/minute
  • 15 1/2" x 14 1/4" x 13" high - 55 lbs. - 9 cases/layer - 12 cases/minute
  • 44" x 48" pallet

Project included testing in Intech's facility with a customer inspection, installation supervision, and start up.


Rebuilt Columbia Model 510 Palletizer integrated with a new VPak Model VTS-60 product double-stacker, new Hytrol product transfer conveyor, new Intech product turner, rebuilt Columbia Model 1097 sheet feeder, and pallet dispenser.

The following are just a few of the highlights for each component of the system:

Designed to turn product 90/180/270/360-degrees in either direction as required for all labels to be facing outward in specific pattern as dictated by customer while still maintaining speed requirements.

Our customer had supplied us with their own electrical and mechanical specifications which we were to adhere to.

Product: Ceiling tile bundles shrink or kraft wrapped

Size: 2' x 2' & 2' x 4' with multiple heights

Speed: 2' x 2' - 18 bundles per minute; 2' x 4' - 16 bundles per minute

Tie Sheets: 33"x 28"


Opportunity: Two production lines feeding into one bulk can palletizer.  Each production line produced four pallet layers per minute (minimum of 480 cans per minute).  The solution would need to run at eight pallet layers per minute (minimum of 860 cans per minute).

Solution: New Intech Model MP800 Magnetic Bulk Can Palletizer accompanied by (2) 5' 3-chain empty pallet staging conveyor and (1) 5' 3-chain full pallet discharge conveyor.  This bulk can palletizer was sold as a semi-automatic leaving the plant to place slip sheets on by hand.

Opportunity: Six bright can palletizers discharging to three fork-lift operators picking up and delivering to a manual stretch wrapper and then moved by fork-lift operators to storage area.  Product:  40"x 48"x 60"tall pallets of canned vegetables.

Solution: New Intech Shuttle Car accompanied by (2) 5' full load infeed pallet conveyors (into wrapper), (2) full load discharge pallet conveyors (from wrapper), 12' long pass through conveyor, Kaufman model SXPA-10 fully automatic pallet stretch wrapper, and (6) full load 3-chain conveyor conveyors (pick-up stations).  This system incorporated an Allen Bradley PLC 5/04, the use of crane rail being placed in the sub flooring, and a safety package of 6' high fencing with interlocked gates.  The shuttle car featured 60 feet / minute travel speed with a distance of up to 50' of travel.  The system was able to produce 46 loads per hour at the discharge of the wrapper.

Rebuilt Columbia FL100 integrated with an ITW MIMA stretch wrapper.  This system also included (2) 90-degree case conveyors, 6' staging full pallet conveyor, 90-degree right angle pallet transfer conveyor, and 5' full pallet discharge conveyor from wrapper.  The features of each machine included:

Intech received the purchase order July 30th and shipped the system on September 7th (6 weeks).  This system required Intech to purchase new 90-degree Hytrol case conveyors.  This project included testing in Intech's facility with a customer inspection, installation supervision, and start up



Product - Two different sized glass containers on 56"x44"pallets with corrugated sheets between each layer.

Rebuilt SECO (Simplimatic Engineering Company) Bulk Depalletizer integrated with tier sheet hopper, single filer, and lowerator. Some of the highlights for each component of this system are as follows:

Intech completed this project in a fourteen week duration that included customer testing in-house, supervised installation, and Intech start up.


Product: One-gallon bottles of liquid product in a 6-pack and 4-pack being palletized onto a 48"x40"GMA and/or 4-way CHEP pallets.  Product speeds needed to meet a minimum of 22 cases per minute on the 6-pack product while the 4-pack needed to meet a minimum of 35 cases per minute.

Intech rebuilt a Columbia Machine Model 510 Case Palletizer utilizing an Allen Bradley SLC 5/04 for controls, a turn assist for heavy cases, a side-shifter to enhance speed, a proportional valve kit for the elevator, centering side squeezers for pattern forming and load squaring, and open flap detection that would shut down the palletizer should a case entering the system not be sealed properly.

The customer was able to utilize the benefit of this machine being 80% complete prior to placing their order.  Intech had previously starting rebuilding this machine to a generic standard.  The customer was able to receive their machinery just four weeks after placing their order.  Intech supervised the installation and performed the start-up and training.



Mateer Burt Model 408D Roll-through Labeler

Product – 401x603 fiber wound cans with EZO cover filled with a dry nutritional product. The label was a high-gloss paper label. The line speed was running @ 80 cans per minute with a 100% efficiency rating.

Intech brought the customer’s existing old Burt labeler to our facility and rebuilt the labeler. All parts of the labeler were inspected, cleaned and/or replaced as deemed necessary to ensure fault free operation for a period of twelve months.

The overall project lasted ten weeks from pick up of customer’s labeler to delivery of labeler to customer.
